Kathleen Anne OBrien

Kathleen is a Licensed Master of Social Work  (LMSW) and a Clinical Therapist in individual and couples counseling.  She has a CASACt (Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor) certification.

Kathleen has earned a Bachelors in Mathematics from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and a Masters Degree from the University of Iowa studying Group Psychotherapy there.

She is an ordained minister who is a Marriage Officiant in the state and city of New York and is now working for her Doctorate at "The New Seminary", an Interfaith Seminary studying and accepting all valid religions of the world. Knowing that there is no one path to the  Great Mystery of Creation and Divine for everyone.

In addition, Kathleen is a Reiki Master and a Certified Tuning Fork Therapy healer.

Kathleen now provides clinical services at the Windsor Counseling Group (845-565-6888) in New Windsor and Middletown, NY.

She has founded several support groups including the T&Q (Transgender and GenderQueer) peer support group at the Hudson Valley LGBTQ Center in Kingston, NY (a first of its kind in the Hudson Valley area).

Kathleen had been a moderator for several women's groups at different LGBTQ organizations and a member of the Clinical Board of Lambda Peer Support Services in White Plains, NY.

Kathleen has written a paper:   INTRODUCTION TO THE LGBTQ POPULATION FOR CLINICIANS.  This paper can be used by anyone as long as it remains unchanged with proper attribution.

Kathleen is CEO of the corporation LGBT Training  Associates.  This corporation is an association of trainers, public speakers, lawyers, doctors and therapists. LGBT Training Associates provides a complete solution to diversity issues ranging fro m Diversity Education to Legal Services and advice to Corporations and HR Departments.

Kathleen is passionate about Diversity Education so that Harrassment and Bullying of people in the workplace will not take place and that ALL people working for a company can work to their full potential and live their lives with rights equal to everyone.

As a therapist, Kathleen provides counseling to ALL individuals including individual clinical therapy, couples counselling, divorce support, depression, gender identity issues, bipolar disorders, and anger management.  She sees DSS mandated clients working on parenting and life skills, depression and trauma.

Kathleen had contacts with professionals and authors on the national and international level and is a member of NASW, WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health), HRC, PFLAG, GLAAD, and GLSEN.

Kathleen has presented to groups, colleges, and businesses including:
